Community Boards are part of the Havant Community Partnership and aim to represent local opinion and aspirations, and the needs of all interest groups in the locality. They do this through their members as representatives of the local population and through inviting the general public to attend their meetings. The objective of each Community Board is to determine longer-term priorities for their areas, thus providing advice and information on local issues to partners on the Havant Community Partnership Board, to inform decision-making. Within the Havant Community Partnership there are six Community Boards representing Emsworth, Havant and Bedhampton, Hayling Island, Leigh Park, Waterlooville North and Waterlooville South.
Each Community Board has 15 members, one of which is a nominated Councillor. Elections, which take place annually, are held in April at Annual General Meetings and those that live, work or learn in the community are welcome to put themselves forward to be a member of their area board or just attend their area’s Community Boards Board meetings.
Leigh Park Community Board meetings usually take place on third Monday of each month at the Leigh Park Community Centre, Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park, starting at 6.30 p.m.
